About me

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!

My name is Katarina, Kata for short, and I'm a 25-year-old girl from Finland. I got accepted to the "Vulcanus in Japan (2015-2016)" programme and I'm going to spend a hopefully great year in Japan starting this September. :) I'm a freshly graduated Master of Science (Technology) in Electrical Engineering. My major was Electrical Systems and minor Energy Markets.

The Vulcanus programme consists of a 4-month Japanese language course in Tokyo and an 8-month internship in a company. During Vulcanus internship, I'm going to work at Hitachi Research Laboratory in the city of Hitachinaka Hitachi, which is about 2 hours north from Tokyo by train.

You can find more about the Vulcanus programme here.

My hobbies include taiko drumming and show dance and I hope to continue both dance (I want to try out yosakoi) and taiko in Japan. I'm planning to start these hobbies when I move to Hitachinaka. So while I'm in Tokyo I'm going to focus on studying and exploring the city as well as playing this super fun taiko game.

I don´t understand it from QUESTIONS & ANSWERS on web of Vulcanus. Can you answer me? Thanks.
